The Upper Peninsula Local Section of the American Chemical Society will host a Student Research Symposium

To provide a venue for students to present their research in chemistry, chemical engineering, and related fields. This symposium will be an excellent opportunity for students, faculty, and the community at large to learn about the interesting chemistry and related research being conducted in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The event is sponsored by the Upper Peninsula Section of the American Chemical Society

Presentation Format: Poster presentations, maximum size 3 feet high x 4 feet wide. Posters MUST be printed prior to arrival. There will not be facilities available to print on site.

Intended Audience:

Undergraduate, graduate, high school and community college students, pursuing research projects through internally and externally-funded grants, guided independent study, or as part of a course are encouraged to present. 
The symposium is directed toward students from the Michigan Upper and Northeast Wisconsin were invited to present.

General public are invited to attend!


There is no cost to present or attend! A pizza lunch will be provided.

Travel support for the 2020 Student Research Symposium is limited.
Students coming from MTU will be reimbursed up to $50 per vehicle.
Students coming from LSSU will be reimbursed up to $70 per vehicle.

Posters will be judged and cash prizes will be awarded to the best posters. All presenters will receive a gift from the UP Local Section.
